St. Genevieve School teachers provide a challenging environment for mastering intermediate classes and preparing for junior high. The academic cirriculum emphasizes core subjects such as writing, math and science while building on the Accelerated Reader Program.

In math, students explore and strengthen key skills in the computation of numbers, problem-solving, multiplication, division, geometry, fractions and graphing. Experiments and hands-on instruction deepen and expand students’ understanding of the physical, life and earth sciences.

In reading and language arts, third grade students begin with a comprehensive approach that incorporates reading, phonics, spelling and grammar. They also learn to write in cursive. As students advance to fourth and fifth grade, they increase their reading comprehension and writing skills by taking on more challenging short stories and novels.

In social studies, students learn about local, state and national communities. As they advance, they learn the history and geography of the United States. Students also begin to comprehend the impact of historical and current events on the world.
Third, fourth and fifth grade students pray on a daily basis and attend a weekly all-school mass. Students develop a greater understanding of the Bible as they learn the Seven Sacraments, The Ten Commandments and expand their knowledge about the doctrine and laws of the Catholic Church.
