Mission Statement

The mission of St. Genevieve Catholic School is to instill Christian values through a quality education.

St. Genevieve Catholic School encourages students to become life-long learners through a student-centered environment.

St. Genevieve Catholic School promotes a sense of community among the diverse members of the parish and motivates students to become responsible participants of society.

Philosophy

The education of our youth is a responsibility shared by with parents/guardians, church, government, and community.

The school addresses and embraces the diversity of culture, race, and ethnic origins of its student. At the same time, St. Genevieve Catholic School recognizes that each student is a unique individual and incorporates strategies to meet the needs of the different learning styles.

Assuming responsibility for the education of our children, St. Genevieve Catholic School gathers resources and knowledge, which can empower the emerging person to construct a peaceful, just, and greathearted world.

St. Genevieve Catholic School recognizes its privileged relationship with the parents/guardians of the students who are the primary teachers and motivators of their children.

Sharing in the mission and ministry of our parish community, St. Genevieve Catholic School models and reflects upon the teachings of the Word of God through our motto, "Where Jesus Is The Heart Of All That Matters."

Our HISTORY

The Craign area was at the end of the city limits in 1889 when the Mission Church of opened. By 1925, the Sisters of Providence were invited to staff the newly opened school.

Second and third generation students now attend St. Genevieve Catholic School. It has graduated hundreds of students, many of whom have become life-long learners and contributors to the religious, civic, academic and business life of the Chicagoland area.

EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM

The goal of the Extended Day Program is to provide for the children enrolled in the program, in the absence of their parents/guardians, an alternative location, and an atmosphere in which to be supervised during the designated time.

Before school program is available from 7:00 to 8:00 A.M. The After school program is available each full day from 2:45 to 6:00 P.M.

Monday through Friday 9:00 to 11:00 A.M., 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. or by appointment.

TUITION

CREDENTIALS

Evaluated and certified by the State of Illinois and the Office of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Chicago.

PROGRAM

4 year old Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade.

CURRICULUM

Included with the core curriculum are: religious education (sacramental preparation at the appropriate grade levels), science lab, integrated learning experiences, learning centers, computer lab, computer in each classroom, music, art, library instruction, physical education, and extracurricular basketball. Current research is evidenced in teaching/learning strategies and assessment tools used.

TEST SCORES

The Tera Nova Multiple Assessment tests are administered to all students of grades 3, 5, and 7. These tests are one component of our assessment procedures to ensure continued growth and academic excellence.
