Technology

At St. Genevieve Catholic School, teachers integrate technology into their daily curriculum and instruction. Students are taught how to use technology as a tool for learning and research. St. Genevieve School is equipped with state-of-the-art computers, laptops and other cutting-edge technology like our Palm Pilot Program.

Library

Students interact weekly with a librarian dedicated to helping them master research skills and develop a passion for reading. St. Genevieve School library also reinforces reading skills through Accelerated Reader. Students discover books on topics they find interesting. Each year, St. Genevieve School dedicates fundraising efforts toward acquiring new library resources and materials.

Art and Music Education

The goal of the Fine Arts Program is to help students develop an appreciation for art and music through classroom instruction and a variety of integrated experiences. Students have the opportunity to develop their vocal abilities by singing during weekly liturgies and participating in an annual talent show. Each spring, art and music achievements are celebrated at the Festival of the Arts.

Physical Education

Students learn fundamental skills in sports and games, participate in physical activities and develop a sense of teamwork and sportsmanship. Intramurals are offered each week for various sports. Extracurricular basketball teams are offered each year for grades 4-8 through the West Central Athletic Association. The St. Genevieve Stepping Team, open to junior high girls, supports our basketball teams. We end each school year with a special Field Day, emphasizing sports and games for the whole school.

Hot Lunch Program

Free or reduced priced hot lunch is available to students who meet eligibility guidelines. Other students may purchase a hot lunch on full days of school. Before and After Care Program

Qualified adults provide supervised Before and After School Care for St. Genevieve School students. Before School Care is offered between the hours of 7-8 AM. After School Care is provided between the hours of 3-6 PM. In After School Care, children are provided with a nutritious snack, the opportunity to work on homework assignments, play interactive games or watch a movie. Several times during the year, St. Genevieve School also sponsors “Movies in the Afternoon,” a free movie for any student who wishes to stay after school.
